Any map of the British Isles will not help you find ELMORE in the Southwest of England. We are a club that takes its name from an area of our hometown of Tiverton in Devon.
Formed in 1947 as the Elmore Sports Club, the original aim was to provide sporting and social facilities for the people of Tiverton. In its early years the club was compelled to continually move premises and in 1958 a major decision to purchase land was made. The raising of funds for such a project was an immense undertaking by the then membership and the result the purchase of a piece of land called Slaughterhouse Field. Now renamed Horsdon Park this remains today as the cornerstone of our club and the firm base for our Football and Social Club Sections.
Since that momentous date the members have continued to improve the facilities at Horsdon Park to cater for its continued membership. Recent undertakings have included the building of a purpose built Grandstand incorporating Changing Facilities fitted to the highest standard and the refurbishment of our Members Lounge Bar.
Success on the football field has been achieved over the years including:-
Season 1960/61 – The ‘Triple Crown’ Comprising the Devon Junior
And Football Express Cups and the Devon and Exeter League One Championship
1971/72 - The ‘East Devon Senior Cup’
